So there was just a post about favorite Oldsmobile and being me, I always have to answer with something different .
The Shelby Series 1 - Powered by a 4.0L V8 sourced from the Oldsmobile Aurora.
Some don't even know this car exists so here's some excerpts I've gotten mainly from wiki, though it's a pretty solid source for this.
Only car Designed/Engineered from a clean slate by Carrol Shelby
249 fully built, more sold as "Component Cars" that were shipped with their engine/trans not installed to dodge re-certifying the car for Safety Standards (cost issue -not unsafe)
The standard 4.0 V8 model ran 0-60 in 4.4....in 1998
It weighed under 2700 pounds in 1998 (add lightness anyone?)
There was a SUPERCHARGED OPTION - 660 hp, 530 trq and a 3.2 0-60 time
Enjoy a few more pics:
EDIT: Adding the wikilink in case anyone wants to go read a little more about it:

I have a 1:18th scale model of the Shelby series. One of my favorites.

Such a oddity of a vehicle. I love the engine and some of the styling...and that it exists is all sorts of fun.

If the Miata was a cross country runner, then this is its football playing and wrestling jock cousin. These are pretty awesome.

If i remember, they weren't all that magical to drive given the suspension technology, but still...what a conversation starter.

yeah unless you plan on a track who cares, it's way too cool to be concerned.

Supposedly it was terrible to drive, and poorly put together, but I've always loved this thing.
